Orientation for SWAYAM Mentors to Strengthen Digital Learning - 08.04.2025
The University of Lucknow conducted a orientation session for SWAYAM Mentors today at the Auditorium of the Department of Chemistry. Prof. Anil Mishra welcomed everyone and event was coordinated by Dr. Shudheer. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Kiran Lata Dangwal, SWAYAM Coordinator, University of Lucknow, with the support of the honorable vice chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai. The orientation brought together departmental SWAYAM Mentors from across the university to discuss key strategies for enhancing the effectiveness of online learning through the SWAYAM platform. Speaking at the event, Dr. Kiran Lata Dangwal emphasized the need for proactive mentorship and digital readiness to support students in navigating MOOCs. The orientation stressed the critical role of mentors in not only overseeing departmental SWAYAM activities but also motivating students, conducting outreach, and participating in continuous training programs to stay updated with evolving digital education practices.
Awareness programme to promote the use of SWAYAM MOOCs among students 17.10.2025
The Department of Zoology at the University of Lucknow organised a "SWAYAM MOOC AWARENESS PROGRAMME." This event was designed specifically for students of Zoology to introduce them to the opportunities provided by the SWAYAM platform. SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active–Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) is a Government of India initiative designed to achieve the three cardinal principles of Education Policy: access, equity, and quality. The objective is to take the best teaching-learning resources to all, including the most disadvantaged. MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) on the SWAYAM platform are free online courses available to anyone. They are developed by top faculty and institutions across the country and cover a wide range of subjects from school to post-graduate levels. A key feature is that learners can receive a formal certificate upon successfully completing a course, often for a minimal fee, which can be used for academic or professional advancement. This awareness programme is a strategic effort to integrate digital learning into the curriculum and empower Zoology students with the supplementary knowledge and certification opportunities available through the national SWAYAM platform. The high-level patronage indicates the university's strong institutional support for this initiative.
Report on SWAYAM MOOCs Awareness Programme Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FOET) – 08.10.2025
The Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FOET) at the University of Lucknow successfully organized a SWAYAM MOOCs Awareness Programme on October 8, 2025. This collaborative event was jointly hosted by the Departments of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), and Mechanical Engineering (ME). The program aimed to educate students and faculty about the benefits and opportunities offered by SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active–Learning for Young Aspiring Minds), a national online education platform.
The event commenced with a welcome address, setting the stage for an informative session on the various courses and certifications available through SWAYAM. Attendees were introduced to the platform's user-friendly interface and the diverse range of subjects it covers, from engineering and technology to humanities and social sciences.

The Department of Management, FMS, University of Lucknow organized the SWAYAM MOOCs Awareness Programme for the newly admitted MBA Batch 2025–2027 on 25th September 2025 at Chanakya Auditorium. The program was conceptualized under the able leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Manuka Khanna, Dean & Head Prof. Sangeeta Sahu, SWAYAM Coordinator Dr. Kiran Lata Dangwal who were all instrumental in organizing and supporting this insightful and interactive session. Dr. Ved Srivastava, SWAYAM Department Mentor, conducted an insightful session introducing students to the wide range of courses available under SWAYAM. He explained the enrolment process, credit transfer system, and the role of MOOCs in skill enhancement and lifelong learning. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who raised queries about course selection, certification, and the practical application of MOOCs in their academic and professional journey. The interaction reflected the curiosity and eagerness of the MBA batch to adopt innovative learning methods. The event concluded on an encouraging note, leaving students motivated to explore the diverse learning opportunities offered through SWAYAM and to integrate them into their management studies for holistic development.

The Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow, successfully organized a SWAYAM MOOCs Awareness Programme on September 29, 2025, at the S. B. Singh Auditorium. The event was graced by Prof. Ram Milan, Head of Department, Dr. Kiran Lata Dangwal, SWAYAM Coordinator, University of Lucknow (Guest of Program), and Dr. Rishi Kant, SWAYAM Mentor (Session Speaker). The programme was coordinated by Dr. Prashant Singh and Dr. Neera Pal. The session highlighted the importance of online learning through the SWAYAM platform. Dr. Dangwal shared insights on the vision and scope of MOOCs, while Dr. Rishi Kant explained the registration process, benefits of certification, and credit transfer with a live demonstration of the portal. Around 100 students actively participated, interacting with the speakers and gaining valuable knowledge about digital learning opportunities. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a group photograph. The key message emphasized was that “Knowledge is not limited to classrooms anymore with platforms like SWAYAM, learning has no boundaries.”

The University of Lucknow’s MOOC/SWAYAM Committee, in collaboration with the Department of Library and Information Science, successfully organized a symposium on "Designing and Development of Massive Open Online Course". The event was held at the Department of Library and Information Science and witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty, researchers, and students interested in advancing their knowledge and skills in MOOC developmentunder the patronship of Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lucknow.
Dr. Kiran Lata Dangwal, Chairperson of the MOOC/SWAYAM Committee and a renowned expert in Educational Technology, played a pivotal role in conceptualizing and steering the event. In her opening remarks, she stressed the need for robust frameworks for designing MOOCs that are both learner-centric and technologically innovative. She also outlined the University's vision for scaling up MOOC initiatives in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The Head of the Department of Library and Information Science, Dr. Pravesh Prakash, welcomed the participants and provided an overview of the department's contributions to e-learning and digital education. Dr. Puneet Mishra emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in designing effective MOOCs that cater to diverse learner needs.
