Digital Citizenship Month is designed to promote awareness of sound digital literacy habits and inspire best practices in organizations and individuals. That means sharing ways to interact safely online.

Individual Student Competition
Each PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 grade band will have a grand prize winner, first runner-up prize winner, and second runner-up prize winner.
Grand Prize per grade band: iPad for student personal use
Grade Band: PreK-2
Student completes coloring page. Options below:
Teacher chooses the best coloring page out of the class.
Teachers can submit ONE coloring sheet. Coloring pages will need to be scanned into a PDF format before submitting through the form.
Grade Bands: 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12
Choices for submission:
Poster/Infographic Design
Design poster or infographic on online safety, privacy, and/or digital etiquette.
Copy paper (8.5 x 11 white paper) or digital design (PowerPoint, Google Slides, etc. - one slide only)
Judging Criteria: Poster must be made by an individual student, must include original or copyright free artwork, and be creative.
Digital Storytelling
Create video or digital story about responsible online behavior, cyberbullying, or digital footprints.
Examples: Comic strip designed digitally; Adobe Express video or story board
Judging Criteria: Must be made by an individual student, using a digital tool.
Essay Writing
Write essay on the impact of social media, cyberbullying, or the importance of digital citizenship.
Loose leaf paper or digital document
Judging Criteria: One page
Digital Art
Create digital art that conveys messages about online safety, respect, and responsibility.
Example tools: Adobe Express; Google Draw
Judging Criteria: Must be made by an individual student, using a digital tool. Must include original or copyright free artwork, and be creative.
Memes or GIFs Creation
Create meme or GIF that promotes positive digital citizenship messages.
Example tools: Adobe Express; PowerPoint or Google Slides; Google Draw; Templates through Google Draw
Judging Criteria: Must be made by an individual student, using a digital tool. Must include original or copyright free artwork, and be creative.
Interactive Presentation
Create interactive presentation or slideshow educating peers about digital citizenship topics.
Judging Criteria: Must be made by an individual student, using PowerPoint or Google Slides.
Poem
Write a poem to teach or inspire other students about a digital citizenship topic.
Loose leaf paper or digital document
Judging Criteria: Poem must be made by an individual student and must be free of plagiarism.
Submissions:
Teachers can submit ONE student entry. Paper entries will need to be scanned into a PDF format before submitting through the form. Digital creations can be submitted through an upload or shared link. The submission link can be found on this website page.
Teacher Competition: LPPS Digital Citizenship Educator Training

Steps:
Complete one of the training opportunities offered through our Educator Training page.
Follow the directions for submitting your training completion to Amanda.Robinson@lpsb.org that are found on the Educator Training page.
Receive verification email from Amanda.Robinson@lpsb.org upon completion.
One teacher will be pulled from a drawing. Deadline for drawing is 8/31/24. The winner will be announced by the end of September.
