As we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the nation's independence, we come together not only to reflect on our past but to explore the ideas that continue to shape our future. Through conversation, storytelling, and shared insights, we honor the principles that unite us and inspire a brighter tomorrow.

Inspired by the spirit of TED Talks, Lance Talks are short, impactful presentations centered on a single big idea. Designed to inform and inspire, each talk offers a unique perspective on enduring American values and the challenges and opportunities we face as a nation.

Whether you're exploring historical context, personal experiences, or future visions, Lance Talks are your opportunity to reflect on what it means to be American—and how we can build a better future together.

Unifying Themes: What Connects Us All

This year, our Lance Talks will focus on powerful, unifying topics—core concepts that have shaped our national identity and continue to guide us forward. These themes encourage us to ask:

How have these ideas been part of who we are?
What’s your personal perspective?
How can we use these ideas to create a more positive and inclusive future?

Our topics include:

Community: The bonds we form, the ways we support each other, and the strength we find in connection.

Freedom to Vote: The power and responsibility of participating in our democracy.

Civic Responsibility: What it means to be an active, informed, and engaged citizen.
Service: Giving back—through military service, volunteering, or everyday acts of kindness.
The American Dream: Exploring the hopes, challenges, and realities of opportunity in America.
Exploration: Our drive to discover and create—through science, literature, the arts, and beyond.
