The Cultural Humility Workshops are designed to foster respect, understanding, and inclusive practices across diverse communities. At Live Humility, we believe cultural humility is not a one-time achievement but a lifelong process of learning, self-reflection, and adaptation. These workshops provide tools to navigate differences with sensitivity and confidence, integrating principles from game theory, cultural humility, CBT, and reality therapy to promote collaboration and mutual growth.
Foundations of Cultural Humility: This introductory workshop explores the core principles of cultural humility, highlighting self-reflection, openness, and a willingness to learn from others’ lived experiences. Participants examine the difference between cultural competence (knowing) and cultural humility (learning), and engage in guided activities to identify personal biases and areas for growth. By the end of the session, participants will have a framework for approaching diverse interactions with respect, curiosity, and accountability.
Inclusive Practices in Education and Care: This workshop equips families, teachers, and caregivers with practical strategies for creating culturally responsive environments. Participants learn how to adapt classroom materials, communication styles, and caregiving approaches to reflect and affirm diverse cultural identities. Through case studies and group discussions, attendees explore how cultural humility can support positive child development, strengthen family engagement, and reduce barriers for neurodiverse and immigrant children.
Addressing Bias and Building Awareness: Participants learn to identify implicit biases and understand how they impact interactions, decision-making, and organizational practices. The workshop provides tools for shifting from judgment to curiosity, using cultural humility to reframe assumptions and foster equity. Role-plays and real-world examples help participants practice inclusive communication strategies, making this session valuable for workplaces, schools, and community settings committed to reducing systemic barriers.
Examining Biases & Building Bridges: This workshop takes bias-awareness a step further by guiding participants to actively transform awareness into bridge-building. Through reflective exercises, dialogue circles, and collaborative problem-solving, participants learn how to challenge personal and systemic biases while developing skills to connect across cultural divides. Emphasis is placed on moving from acknowledgment of difference toward authentic relationship-building and coalition-making. Participants leave with tools to create spaces of belonging where diversity becomes a foundation for stronger, united communities.
Cultural Humility in Mental Health Support: This workshop explores the application of cultural humility within counseling, behavioral support, and therapeutic settings. Participants learn to recognize how cultural values and traditions influence expressions of mental health, coping, and help-seeking behaviors. Attendees will practice integrating cultural awareness into assessments, treatment plans, and communication styles, ensuring services are respectful, affirming, and responsive to the needs of diverse populations.
Building Trust Across Cultures: Trust is the foundation of effective collaboration, and this workshop teaches participants how to develop cross-cultural trust in families, workplaces, and communities. Using game theory concepts, participants explore how to find “win-win” solutions in culturally diverse settings. Practical exercises highlight how to navigate misunderstandings, address power dynamics, and establish credibility across cultural lines. This session is especially useful for leaders and organizations working in multicultural communities.
Intersectionality and Identity: This session examines how overlapping identities—such as race, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, and disability—shape individuals’ lived experiences. Participants learn how cultural humility requires seeing the whole person, not just one identity marker. Through guided reflection and case scenarios, attendees practice approaching individuals with empathy, recognizing how systems of privilege and marginalization intersect. This workshop helps educators, service providers, and community members foster inclusivity while reducing barriers to participation and belonging.
