Curriculum

At Little Peaks Learning, we believe childhood is a time for wonder, discovery, and meaningful connection. Our curriculum is thoughtfully created to nurture each child’s natural curiosity while supporting their emotional, social, and developmental growth. Through a balance of play-based learning, gentle structure, and hands-on exploration, we create an environment where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn each day. 

We focus on the whole child, encouraging confidence, kindness, creativity, and independence while building strong foundations in early literacy, math, problem-solving, and social-emotional skills. Our educators guide children through meaningful experiences that allow them to explore at their own pace and develop a lifelong love of learning. 

Each month, Little Peaks Learning introduces a special theme designed to spark imagination and bring fresh excitement into the classroom. These themes help children explore the world around them through stories, art, sensory play, music, outdoor adventures, and collaborative activities.

Our Monthly Themes

January — Winter Wonders
Snow, ice, winter animals, and seasonal weather inspire cozy exploration, sensory play, and discovery of the winter world.

February — Love & Beyond the Stars
Kindness, friendship, and social-emotional growth are explored alongside imaginative learning about space and seasonal celebrations.

March — Authors, Maple, & Dinosaurs
Stories and favorite authors inspire early literacy, while maple season and dinosaur exploration spark curiosity through hands-on learning and play.

April — Spring Showers & Earth Power
Rainy days, Earth Day, and nature studies encourage curiosity about the environment through hands-on exploration and outdoor discovery.

May — Bugs, Bees, Butterflies & Flowers
Children explore insects, pollinators, and plant life while learning about growth, life cycles, and the beauty of the natural world.

June — Summer Celebrations
The start of summer brings outdoor play, water exploration, and joyful celebrations of milestones and community.

July — Summer & Ocean Discovery
Ocean themes and summer science inspire curiosity through water play, marine life exploration, and hands-on discovery.

August — All About Me
Children build self-awareness through activities focused on identity, emotions, body awareness, and classroom routines.

September — My Community and Vermont
Local connections, family, and community helpers help children understand their place in the world and their Vermont roots.

October — Fall on the Farm
Farm life, pumpkins, and autumn changes inspire sensory exploration and seasonal learning experiences.

November — Harvest & Gratitude
Children explore thankfulness, food, and traditions while building connections to family, community, and giving.

December — Winter Celebrations
Holiday traditions, cultural awareness, and winter fun come together to celebrate diversity, kindness, and togetherness.
