During the course of the week, we will have five spelling lessons exploring a pattern and applying it in context in class. Home spellings will match this pattern.
Home learning of spellings can be done in a variety of ways e.g. written test, look-cover-write-check, writing sentences, rainbow writing, etc. and must be done for at least 4 times a week. This practice will be signed and acknowledged by class teachers on a Monday. Children have been informed that 'look, cover, write, check' must make up at least one of their practices. Please see below for an example of thorough spelling practice.
We also ask the children to complete one 'Doodle Spell' assignment each week which will be set on a Monday.
Some children may have more individualised spellings and these will be put into place within a few weeks of term beginning.Â
