Each castle in the middle ages was designed to be able to defend itself from enemy forces in different ways. Castles were also a sign of power and wealth but their main feature was for protection and methods of attacking an enemy trying to invade the castle.
Phase 1 Instructions
1 - Draw a map of your castle
Sketch a map of your castle as if you were looking down over it.
Label all the rooms and features of your castle.
Make sure to include defences for your castle, examples could be; a moat, trees, walls, spikes or certain traps.
2 - Image of your castle from the front
Draw a diagram of your castle from the front. Imagine you are standing and looking at it from the front. Must include colour.
3 - Write one paragraph that describes how your castle would be defended if an attacking force tried to invade. The enemy contains 100 archers and 500 soldiers. Write this description underneath your front on diagram.
Make sure to reference the features on your map.
Phase 2 Instructions
After you have completed Phase 1, swap your two diagrams with another group.
Write an explanation on how you would conquer another group's castle. Write about how you would invade their castle/get through or over the walls.
Write this in your own books.
