Longview High School is an IB (International Baccalaureate) School.
Dual Credit and IB work together to provide the best academic experience for LHS students. Longview High School is an IB School. Students are able to take both IB classes and Dual Credit classes.
There are three sides to the IB Program:
•IB Diploma Program (11th/12th grade) (DP)
•IB Career Program (CP)
•MYP-Middle Years Program (9th/10th grade) (MYP)
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) program aims to do more than other curricula. The program develops inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who are motivated to succeed. The IB gives students distinct advantages by building their critical thinking skills, nurturing their curiosity and their ability to solve complex problems.
The goal of the IB program is to :
•encourage students of all ages to think critically and challenge assumptions
•develop independently of government and national systems, incorporating quality practice from research and our global community of
schools
•encourage students of all ages to consider both local and global contexts
•develop multilingual students
