Welcome to Dual Credit

Longview Dual Credit

Greetings!  Longview Dual Credit is excited and cannot wait for you to join the Lobo Family.  As this new school year begins, the Dual Credit Team wants to provide you with information for your high school journey.

What is Dual Credit?  The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) defines dual credit as a “system in which an eligible high school student enrolls in college course(s) and receives credit for the course(s) from both the college and high school. Dual credit courses may be taught on the high school campus by an approved instructor or on the college campus. Dual credit courses include both academic and technical courses.”  Longview High School wants to provide our students with a quality education that blends the high school and college experience while exposing students to a rigorous and relevant curriculum that will prepare them to perform in a globally competitive society.

Students must take the TSI test in order to enroll in academic dual credit.  Please click on the TSI Q & A link below and read the information sheet attached.  We want your high school experience to be your best experience, and Dual Credit can be a big part of the picture.

Again, welcome and we look forward to working with you as you elevate to the next level.
