The ACCESS Ability office recognizes that the switch to a remote learning environment may cause some additional anxiety for students and may raise questions regarding how current accommodations will be implemented. This change may also bring up new concerns and questions for students who have never had accommodations before. Rest assured that we are available to help answer any questions you have throughout this transition. Please see below for more information about setting up accommodations, updating current accommodations, and scheduling meetings.
Accommodation Registration
If you have not had accommodations in the past, but find that you need them in the new remote learning environment, please complete the ACCESS Ability registration form here and include documentation from a licensed professional (doctor, therapist, counselor, etc.) that includes your diagnosis, any functional limitations the diagnosis causes in the educational environment, any diagnostic evaluations, and any recommendations they have for accommodations. If you do not have this information when you submit the registration form, it can be scanned and emailed to accessability@lipscomb.edu at a later time. You will also need to complete the Accommodation Request Form here. Once we have received this information, we will reach out to schedule an intake meeting with you to discuss your request.
Updating Accommodations Plan
If you feel you need to make any changes to your current accommodations plan due to the remote learning environment, please send an email to accessability@lipscomb.edu with the changes you are requesting and we will follow up with you from there.
Scheduling a meeting
If you need to schedule a meeting for any reason, please send an email to accessability@lipscomb.edu with your available days and times. We will be available for Zoom video meetings Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CST.
