Learning remotely, online learning or however you wish to refer to learning that occurs in a virtual way, is a new experience for many of you. This unexpected shift in how your coursework will be delivered and how your learning will occur and be assessed is undoubtedly creating some anxiety and uncertainty regarding how you will continue with your studies this semester.
This website is intended to be a source of information for you as you begin your journey into the world of virtual learning. The faculty and administration at Lipscomb are doing everything possible to provide you with what you need to be successful and to continue making progress toward your academic goals.
The website is divided into several sections in order to be more useful to you. Technology is vitally important to your success. Make certain your devices are operational and that you are aware of the support services that we are making available as you navigate different platforms and products. Developing your academic approach to your virtual courses will be absolutely necessary. Develop how you will structure your days with respect to acquiring needed course content. In addition, if you have accommodations through our ACCESS Ability office, you will need to know how those will be met. If you need tutoring from the math lab, the writing studio, etc. those services will continue to be provided. You will no doubt need library services as you complete papers, projects, and/or assignments. These necessary components to your learning are addressed in the sections on this website.
This experience is an opportunity for all of us to learn about, adapt to, and engage in new and beneficial ways of teaching and learning. Our world has changed dramatically in the past couple of weeks. However, as was the case before Covid-19, even after we move through this challenging period, change will not cease to occur. Being better prepared for that change is a part of learning that never goes out of style for any of us.
It is important that you visit this website often, since we will provide updates as we move through the remainder of the semester. We will learn better ways of serving you, or we will discover information that we have not provided to you. We are all moving through this different approach together. We will do our best to support you as much as possible during these unexpected circumstances.
