Hello, and welcome to my website! I've been a faculty member at Lipscomb University since Summer 2019. I have been a college instructor since 2009, and specifically in Christian higher education since 2012. At Lipscomb, I am a (tenured!) Associate Professor of Psychology, and my specific roles are as Lead Psychology faculty for Lipscomb's undergraduate program as well as Lead Faculty for Lipscomb Online's psychology undergraduate program. My position involves a dual appointment between Lipscomb Online (College of Professional Studies) and the department of Psychology, Counseling, and Family Science (College of Liberal Arts and Sciences). I teach mostly at the undergraduate level, though I have also taught for the Master's in Sustainability program, the Lipscomb LIFE program, and the Summer Scholars program. I also sometimes design courses and teach for York College Online (Nebraska).Â
My doctoral training is in Behavioral Neuroscience (University of Texas at Austin, 2008) and I earned my Bachelor's degree in psychology from Loyola University New Orleans. My training in the relationship between brain and behavior has prepared me to teach students how to think about research and data collection, as well as how behavior change and brain activity work together to make us who we are.
