Meet the Coordinators

Emil Sol

Hello Everyone!

My name is Emil Sol, and I am one of the Co-Coordinators for the Peer-to-Peer Mentoring Program this year along with Memo Gonzalez. I am currently a Junior Spanish major with an Education minor, and I am from Lynwood, California. One thing that I've learned as a first-generation college student at LMU is that people need people. To me, peer mentorship is something really valuable that doesn't really get the credit it deserves. Having a faculty/staff mentor is great, but a peer mentor is really something special because they are also on this college journey with you. As a former mentee and a current mentor, I can proudly say that you will find great connections and relationships through this program.

Guillermo "Memo" Gonzalez

Hello All!

It's me, Memo. I am one of the Co-Coordinators for the First To Go Peer-to-Peer Mentorship program along with Emil. I'm a junior Recording Arts major from Los Angeles, California. I strongly believe that peer mentorship is an integral part of life, especially for first generation college students. We all need somebody that we can grow with and peer mentorship allows for that growth to flourish. As a previous mentee I can safely say that my mentor has become one of my closest friends and a source of motivation. In a way, peer mentorship is more than a community, it is a network, family, and friendship all in one package.
