What is the Peer-To-Peer Mentoring Program?

The First To Go Peer-To-Peer Mentoring Program is a program that aims to help the First To Go Scholars with their transition into college life by providing each scholar with a peer mentor to help them throughout their first year. This program is designed to create meaningful networks and relationships that will benefit both mentors and mentees. Our goal is to create mentor/mentee pairings that will last even beyond the mentor/mentee's graduation from LMU.

How are Mentors and Mentees paired?

Each scholar is paired with a First To Go Peer Mentor on the basis of common majors, career/professional goals, and/or similar interests. We use this method to pair mentees with mentors who will be able to help them out in any future endeavors. Additionally, if there are no matches with majors, we then move on to pair students based on what college(s) they are in. We also pair students based on any interests that overlap between mentors and mentees. This could include interest in multicultural organizations, student government, honors societies, community service, etc.

When will the pairings be revealed?

As of now, we currently have Saturday November 14 from 11:00 am-12:00pm as the date and time for our Mentor/Mentee Reveal Social. If you are unable to make it to the reveal social, please contact one of the Co-Coordinators as soon as possible. We will also think of alternatives for those that cannot make it to the social.

Who can I contact if I have any questions or concerns?

You can contact the Co-Coordinators!
