This course for first year college students was designed to be taught as an online course with no synchronous meetings over a over a 10 week term (with 11th week for final exam) at Umpqua Community College. This course covers an overview of the scope and development of human services, including models of service delivery, historical context, clientele, the helping process, career opportunities, and professional ethics.
Included in this course are an instructor manual, a course supplement guide, weekly overviews, discussion prompts, assignments, and group project examples The course readings include an open textbook for each topic, along with other openly licensed materials.
