Lingkod is blessed to have a generous God who never fails to provide for us so we can answer His call as His disciples, to evangelize and disciple other single young professionals.
Despite the pandemic, Branches faithfully contributed to the National Office, some, even included their Branch savings. We also had savings from our regular expenses - from travel, venue for meetings, rent for training household, etc. With these, we were able to set aside a big part of our funds for the following: alms, calamity, and covid- related concerns.
Here are helpful guidelines for a common approach on the disbursement of the said funds.
May we be good stewards of the resources entrusted to us as a movement.
NATIONAL OFFICE
The Alms Fund may be available in case of illness, accident, or death of a Lingkod member or their immediate family member.
A. Our general approach in addressing the needs of our members is to follow the levels of our support structure. If the Action Group (AG) of the person-in-need cannot address the need, the Action Group Leader (AGL) will ask the help of the Branch thru the Branch Leader (BL) or Branch Women’s Moderator (BWM). If help is still needed, BL can escalate to the Region thru the Regional Director (RD)/ Regional Women’s Moderator (RWM). Should assistance still be inadequate, help from National Office (NO) thru the National Director may be sought.
B. In cases where the Branch can provide assistance, the Branch may extend help in the form of monetary and/or non-monetary assistance like mass card, flowers for the deceased, or fruit basket for the member hospitalized.
C. If the financial need is more than what the Branch and Region can give, the BL/BWM may request for additional assistance from the National Office. Only a maximum Php 5,000/member/year will be made available and Php 3,000 for immediate family members.
D. The main leaders (BL/ BWM, RD/ RWM) of a Branch or Region may also avail of the said financial assistance.
The Calamity Fund may be made available in case an individual, a Community, or an Institute, whether from Lingkod or not, is affected by natural disaster, fire, or calamity.
A. The Regional or Branch Leadership (RD/RWM, BL/BWM) may send a request to the National Office (N.O) for immediate assistance when calamity hits.
B. The person requesting will specify the purpose and needed amount and approval will come from the National Director, Moderator, and Comptroller.
C. Lingkod has allocated a calamity fund, but if needed, the National Office and/or the Region/Branch may also raise funds for such calamity.
The Covid Fund may be made available to Lingkod members who are infected by Covid.
A. ·For members with asymptomatic to mild cases, a Covid Care Kit may be provided by the Branch. Branches may come up with their own version of this kit or purchase the items from the list recommended. A maximum amount of Php 1,500 per kit may be reimbursed from the National Office.
B. For members with severe cases or are hospitalized, a small donation of Php 5,000 may be requested from the National Office by the BL/BWM/RD/RWM.
C. For members who cannot afford Covid19 vaccine, the National Office may provide a subsidy. However, members are encouraged to sign- up and avail first of the free vaccination from Local Government Units (LGUs) or from their employers.
