APRIL IN REVIEW
It has been a long and productive April for Lighthouse Artspace Toronto and we have been lucky to host a series of exciting events. Below are some of the events we've hosted;
April 13th: Kiss Beauty
We hosted a private event for Kiss Beauty that took place in Gallery One and Two. Kiss is an American company that specializes in nails, lashes, cosmetics and hair care products and this was their Canadian Launch. They launched four new products, 2 sets of lashes and two sets of nails. For this event we had nail stations so guests could get their nails done, as well as a DJ and cocktails.
April 15th: The Sound of Ukraine
This was two Immersive Concerts that took place in Gallery Two that featured music by award-winning Ukrainian composer Tymur Polianskyi. This was Polianskyi's first trip outside of Ukraine since the beginning of the war. He composed music for Immersive Shevchenko: Soul of Ukraine, which together with Lighthouse Immersive raised $250,000 for humanitarian needs in Ukraine. This concert featured a one-of-a-kind musical performance with live, improvised, musical accompaniment to the immersive exhibits; "Immersive Shevchenko: Soul of Ukraine" and "Immersive World of Maria Prymachenko." A portion of the proceeds from the concert went to support Ukraine.
April 16th: Sensory Friendly Showing
Lighthouse Artspace Toronto is happy to have hosted our first sensory friendly showing of Disney Animation Immersive Experience in partnership with Autism Ontario. We were able to make some alternations to our exhibit, such as changing the lighting and audio in order to make our shows more accessible for everyone. We are excited to have more of these showings in the future.
April 25th: Antoniette Catenacci Haute Couture
This runway show took place in Gallery two and was a fundraiser for UHN. The show featured work from Antoniette Catenacci, who is a fashion designer born in Toronto, Ontario. Wine and o'dourves were passed out as guests enjoyed the runway as well as some live music. This was Lighthouse Immersive's first ever fashion show, but hopefully not our last!
We are also happy to announce that Disney Animation Immersive Experience has been extended to September!
