Grade 6 News
Grade 6 have had a fantastic Term 1 so far. The students have become familiar with their new classmates and teachers and have been showing enthusiasm towards all the new learning and challenges of being in Grade 6.Â
The students have especially enjoyed I.T. lessons with Mr Dylan, which is a new subject this year. They have been taking the next steps in their specialist subjects as they prepare for life in Secondary School in just a few short months!
There is a huge black board call "The Wall" that is used by Grade 6 learners to display their learning as we progress in the different IPC units. The first unit was Brainwave and it was with joy to see that they understood what metacognitive strategy works best for them to enhance their learning journey. In that particular unit, they needed to exercise their teaching and learning skills where they had to teach a peer a skill they know and evaluate their learning and their teaching. It was fascinating to see how dynamic all of them were. The whole grade will enjoy a barbecue before the Easter break to celebrate the end of our Nu Ti Moris unit in IPC.
The Grade 6 students have been doing their utmost to set a good example to the rest of the school through their behaviour and hard work in class. The student house leaders have been helping with school events and learning a lot about responsibility.
Grade 6 Green enjoyed presenting an assembly based on thanksgiving and Grade 6 Yellow will be ready with their assembly soon too. We are looking forward to our Grade 6 Outdoor Education Days in the week after the Easter break. This will be a great opportunity for the students to discover how teamwork and resilience can help them to achieve more this year and in the future.
