Message from Mr West
Dear Lighthouse Primary School Parents,
We hope you are well after the storm. We've had a busy week at school, and although it was short, there are several important updates and reminders we want to share with you.
We're excited to share what our Grade 1 and Grade 4 learners have been up to in the last few weeks! Take a moment to click on the links provided (in top menu bar) to see what they've been up to.
Last Saturday, 17 February, Lighthouse had the honour of hosting the AMIS Teachers' Conference at our school. It was a day filled with enriching teacher development sessions, where our dedicated educators had the opportunity to learn and grow professionally. We were delighted to welcome 11 private schools from the island, along with 221 teachers, contributing to a vibrant atmosphere of collaboration and learning. Please see photos below.
We acknowledge the disruptions caused by recent weather conditions, which have raised concerns among some parents regarding our ability to complete the curriculum. Please be assured that we are fully committed to ensuring that all learning objectives are achieved by the end of the term. We acknowledge the difficulties many parents face with home learning while juggling their own work requirements, and we appreciate your ongoing support and understanding during these challenging unforeseen times.
Uniform Schedule Reminder:
As we continue to nurture a sense of togetherness and pride in our school community, we've made some adjustments to our uniform schedule. Please take a moment to review the update below to ensure that your children are dressed according to our guidelines. Rest assured, it won't impact the frequency of each uniform per week.

Warm regards,

Call for Vendors for our National Day Celebration!
We're excited to announce our upcoming National Day Celebration, and we need your help to make it a delicious success! As part of our festivities, we're planning to showcase the rich culinary heritage of Mauritius by offering a variety of traditional Mauritian dishes at our event. We're looking for enthusiastic and reliable vendors to sell Mauritian food during the celebration.
We are still looking for vendors to sell (not limited to this list):
Glacon Rape
Poutou
Napolitaines
Gato Moutaille
Confits
Chinese Cakes
If you know of anyone who would be interested to come and sell food from 9:30- 12:30 on 7 March, please let Miss Flo know on florence.thomas@lighthouse.edu.mu.
* Please note, vendors will be requested to hold a "Food Handling Certificate". Showing interest to be a vendor, does not automatically guarantee acceptance.
Grade 5 & 6 Information Evening
If you're a Grade 5 and 6 parent, we looking forward to welcoming your child to the Lighthouse Secondary School in January 2025 (or 2026). As such, please join us on Monday, 18 March from 18:00 - 19:00 in our Pavilion for an Information Evening. Discover what makes Lighthouse Secondary special, get answers to your questions about transitioning from Primary to Secondary, and learn about academics, well-being, technology, outdoor education, and more. Make sure you note it in your diaries and we look forward to seeing you there!
Family Picnic 15th of March
We are excited to host our first picnic for 2024 on Friday, 15 March. All families are welcome to come and enjoy the evening with us. The picnic starts at 17:30 and usually ends by 20:30. Bring along your picnic blankets and supper, and let's enjoy a night of fun together while the children play to their heart's content!

Please be reminded that the AMARE T-shirts are now available at the Uniform shop. Unfortunately, the FIDEM house t-shirts are still unavailable for now. The uniform shop is open on Mondays and Thursdays, 8:00 to 14:00. Caps are available, however we are still waiting for hats. Click here for uniform price list and order form.
