Dear parents,
We are so happy that we have had two full weeks of learning without any interruptions. The children have been working very hard and they have been engaged in lessons. That has been beautiful to see. Please remind the children to bring their hats, caps, water bottles, and communication books every day. The children are to wear their appropriate uniform daily. Please check the uniform schedule of the school to know what your child needs to wear daily.
We look forward to meeting you all next week for the Parents-Teachers Conference.
Literacy
In Literacy, Grade Four have been reading and discussing a book titled "How Memory Works". In the coming weeks, we will move on to other books based on "friendship". The children have learned and revised how to arrange words in alphabetical order and also how to find words in dictionaries. In grammar, Grade Four has revised and worked on nouns and adjectives. In the coming weeks, they will focus on conjunctions, adverbs and prepositions.
Numeracy
In Numeracy, we have worked on the unit "Place Value" of up to 4-digit numbers, representing them on number lines, rounding numbers as well as some mental maths. We are now focusing on adding and subtracting 4-digit numbers using various methods such as grid and compact methods. In the coming weeks, we will work on estimating and using inverse operations to check answers to a calculation.
I.P.C.
In I.P.C., we have been learning about Metacognition and how we learn. We explored different types of learning styles. Using these styles, the children were able to identify how they enjoy learning. In addition, we also focused on and discussed the Growth and Fixed mindsets. In the coming weeks, we will move on to learn about friendships and how they can be built and maintained.
