Message from the Head of Primary
Dear Parents and Primary Students,
Welcome to this week's newsletter! We're delighted to share the highlights from an inspiring and eventful week at our school.
Firstly, a heartfelt congratulations to our Grade Six students for their beautiful and thought-provoking assembly. Their presentation was a reminder of the potential within each of us have in and through Christ, and their closing message, "find the David in you," resonated deeply with everyone. This powerful phrase encourages us to look within and discover the strength and courage to overcome our challenges, just as David did in the Bible.
In addition to this uplifting assembly, we had a special musical treat this morning. Joshua Elisa joined the teacher band, adding his vibrant energy and talent to the performance on the drums. His participation brought joy and excitement to our assembly, showcasing the wonderful community spirit we cherish at our school.
As we approach the weekend, we want to take a moment to wish all our dads and Father figures a very happy Father’s Day. Thank you for your unwavering support, love, and dedication. Your efforts make a world of difference in the lives of your children and in our school community.
Lastly, please take a moment to visit the Grade 2 and Grade 5 pages for updates and highlights from their activities this week. You can find the links below:
Don't miss our sports page this week.
Thank you for staying connected with us. Have a wonderful weekend!
Warm regards,

Primary School News
Lighthouse proudly represents at recent Tri-School Spelling Bee Contest
Our students from Gr 5-7 tried their best during the Tri-School Bilingual Spelling Bee last Friday, mostly aiming for 3-point words which were not easy to spell. Despite our best efforts, Lighthouse came in 3rd place, while Northfields came in 2nd and Ecole du Nord in 1st place.
All the same, we want to congratulate Lighthouse students on the teamwork that they demonstrated during the last stages of the competition where they had to choose collectively from 1-point, 2-point or 3-point words and write them on a board to either show it to the judges or to send one of them to spell it. This was a positive demonstration of a sense of belonging and unity across grades! Well done!
CAR Reports and Copybooks being sent Home
Please note that the CAR 1 Report for Term 2 will be sent via EdAdmin on Monday, along with the CAR 2 planning. Additionally, from now on, we will also be sending copybooks home on the same day as the CAR reports. Copybooks will be sent home on Friday and must be returned by the next Monday to ensure that classwork is not disrupted.
We kindly ask for your cooperation in ensuring that the copybooks are returned promptly on Monday so that class activities can proceed smoothly.
Music Day on the 21st June
As we get ready to celebrate Music Day on 21 June, we are calling all musicians who would like to sign up to play a piece on the instrument of their choice. This is open to all Primary students who are learning to play an instrument and who can perform a two (2) minute musical piece.
No need to audition... and we have two more spaces available, so be sure to sign up here.
Get Involved at Lighthouse!
Our school thrives on the support and dedication of volunteers to continue providing our students with the best possible educational experiences! We are seeking volunteers to join us in various capacities. All welcome - Mummies, Daddies, Grandpas, Grandmas and the list goes on! Your involvement can make a significant impact and everyone in the community is welcome to sign-up!

Uniform Shop has Moved! Take note of new location
Our uniform shop has moved from the Primary Resource Room, to above the Pavilion kitchen. Please see map below for clear directions on how to find our new shop!
General reminders and clarifications:
- Please only send your child to collect a uniform item, if they know their size, and have the correct cash available or once you've made a Juice payment and sent POP to uniform@lighthouse.edu.mu
- If you have purchased and paid for an incorrectly coloured (maroon) Fidem shirt before, please send the incorrect shirt with your child to the uniform shop. Only once we receive the original shirt, will we replace it with the correct coloured shirt. This also ensures that we provide you with the correct size. Note that only the incorrectly coloured Fidem shirts will be replaced.
- Parents who have not yet bought Fidem shirts before, are welcome to do so, by following the above protocol.
Click here for the uniform price list and order form or email Ms. Melanie at uniform@lighthouse.edu.mu.
Lost and Found Reminder
We have noticed an increasing number of unmarked clothing, caps, and water bottles in our Lost and Found box. Please ensure that all personal items are clearly marked with your child's name and surname to facilitate their return and remind your children that they are responsible for their belongings and should take care to keep track of what they bring to school. Thank you!
