STEAM FOR FUTURE - DAY 1
Today was the first day of ALL, and we divided our roles in the team: Alex Istrate was our leader, Olivia and Tancredi were the technicians (which later on would be Matteo and Tancredi), Matteo was the collector (which later on would be Olivia) and Luca was a reporter.
After that, everyone wrote the user map for the student of Negrelli middle school, and after that the IGCSE user map was written.
Later on, everyone participated in the brainstorming for the experiment: we chose the combustion of foods, and our experiment is based on that.
Finally, in the afternoon, we saw how an IGCSE SLE is structured, and we saw different examples of them, from the best ones to the worst ones (we also corrected some example tests).
In the morning the first thing we did was to divide the work according to the tasks we had to do. One part was responsible for the creation of the IGCSE video script, the other part was responsible for creating the Gantt diagram. In this early part of the morning we also confronted with prof. Urschitz on the feasibility of the materials required
Towards the end of the morning we attended a meeting with Monica Murano (crash course).
In the afternoon we created the final sheet of our experiment with the respective materials and completed the project for the IGCSE all this work based on a swot analisys ( strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats ).
In the morning, as a group, we went into the lab to test the functionality of our experiment. We confronted our theory with prof. Urschitz that helped us to rescue the problems and to organize all the materials required. In our experiment we tested two foods to burn: a peanut and a piece of lard. The test worked: the burning of the two pieces heated a lot the pipette containing water.
At the end of the morning we did a test based on the crash course of yesterday with Monica Murano. We also started to register the introduction part of our IGCSE video.
In the afternoon we did the exposition panel ( a panel that we are going to explain once they arrive at our station ) for the Negrelli school and the respective schedule that we are going to give them ( it contains alle the instructions to replicate the experiment).
In the morning, we registered the video for the IGCSE assignment, and we made every part that we needed. After the registration, Tancredi started to edit the video on Premiere, and Matteo and Olivia continued their respective work (the schedule for the students of Negrelli and the poster for the experiment).
In the afternoon, Matteo fixed the schedule for the students and Olivia completed the poster. Luca and Alex couldn't do anything because they had the italian test, and for that reason we couldn't do that much.
Today only Matteo was at school, and he was the only one to work. Unfortunately he couldn't edit the video because it was Tancredi's responsibility, and he could just prepare the final presentation for the IGCSE product.
Today we went to Negrelli Middle School, and we did the experiment for a lot of kids.
In the afternoon, we made the experiment again for other kids and we went to the playground.
Today we presented our work to the last groups.
In the afternoon, we presented our work for the celebration.
