PCTO

The PCTO, the organization that replaced school work, is making many kids passionate, since it's a unique experience. It is totally free and shouldn’t be missed. It shows people what they are going to face, but above all it makes you understand how important meetings, group work and people’s ideas are.

Orto dei Semplici

Orto dei Semplici is a garden created by the students in 2013 and it represents a living laboratory. This vegetable garden is a transversal activity that involves all the students who want to participate, and this includes students with special needs. Here the pupils besides doing science, also do history, geography, mathematics, physical education, economics...Cultivating a vegetable garden at school means first of all cultivating knowledge with an experiential learning, which younger generations don’t always have a way to experience. Cultivating at school is a way to learn about living beings, the functioning of a community, the importance of collective goods and the knowledge of others. The vegetable garden combines the creative approach and education to the environment. It allows you to get closer to outdoor life, manual skills, understanding the cycles of nature, the ability to wait, constancy and determination. In the Garden there is also an area dedicated to composting: here are conveyed organic waste from the garden but also from the school. Since 2017 the garden has become a living laboratory, an outdoor classroom where students come to study. The classes are assigned a portion of land where they sow, transplant the chosen crop and take care of it until the harvest. Pupils are engaged in school hours from September to May.
