Leader in Me

On this page we'll share how we're incorporating the habits into our days and which habit we are focusing on.

Before we left school we were working on habit # 3 Put First Things First. It's important to keep in mind these habits work together and are not meant to be selected one over another. We have to be Proactive in order to begin with the end in mind and then we must put the important things in front to make sure they are done. These habit complement each other and are great reminders to help your student be successful. Watch this video with your student to understand this habit a little better. https://www.leaderinme.com/resources/a-place-for-everything

We have started working on habit #2 Begin With the End in Mind. This allows students to begin tasks and goals with the result they want at the end. This provides a better perspective and allows them to create a pathway towards their desired goals and objectives. Here's a video to help illustrate this habit. https://www.leaderinme.com/resources/goob-and-the-bug-collecting-kit

Students have gained a new understanding of circles of influence identifying what they can control, what they can influence, and things they can't control. This lets them use their perspective to become positive role models and leaders in their own way.

Our students have been doing a great job creating personal goals and recognizing the value in being proactive. Hopefully they have communicated their personal goals to you at home. They have also created a monitoring system to ensure they meet their goals! Next, we will be working on circles of control (self) and influence (others).

We've been working on the habit of "Be Proactive". We've been learning what it means to be proactive. Additionally, We've discussed the antonym reactive. The class decided it is better to be proactive.
