This summer our Gifted & Talented department has partnered together to offer an in-person 6-hour update.  According to TEA a gifted/talented student is a child or youth who performs at or shows the potential for performing at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience, or environment and who:

• exhibits high-performance capability in an intellectual, creative, or artistic area;

• possesses an unusual capacity for leadership; or

• excels in a specific academic field.

Our goal is to EMPOWER!  you and challenge you to take your teaching to a new level.  We will equip you with tools and resources that will help support not only your  GT students, but all students!

Participants will rotate through six breakout sessions that include:

• Field Guide for Teaching Gifted Students

• Fostering Elementary and Secondary GT

• Genius Hour

• Depth & Complexity

• S.T.E.A.M./Innovation

• S.C.A.M.P.E.R
