Sojourner Truth was born a slave and she was sold to a family who she had to be a slave for. She had to clean their house and do whatever they told her to do. Her and her family slept in the same room because they didn't have a lot of money. She was also sold to a family who would beat her. She saw how people were treating women and how slaves were treated as well. She saw that women were not allowed to vote. She wanted all of that to change.
