Your brain does a lot to keep your body moving and functioning, and keeping you safe and alive. Without your brain you wouldn’t be able to move, talk, think or maybe even breathe. The brain is basically the main control room, the place where everything happens. The brain also takes care of all the 5 senses and that's what also helps you see. The brain takes care of almost everything in your body, like hunger, emotions, and so many other things, but there’s different parts of the brain that work together to control the body.
The brainstem is the place that helps with the breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, and other important functions. If that part of your brain gets damaged then it could lead to a fatal accident. This is basically the back of your neck, that's why in tornado drill they ask you to put your hands behind your neck to protect it. Like i said somewhere before this is the 'automatic' place where it keeps the body going even when you're sleeping.
The spinal cord is where the body sends the message. The body sends a message to move or do something and it goes up the spinal cord and into your brain. The spinal cord is also your back. The body sends messages to the brain to do something like move, and it gets sent up there through the spinal cord. The spinal cord is also what keeps the body in place and keeping it from collapsing or falling apart.
The Central Nervous System is the brain and Spinal cord. Both organs work together all the time, like the brain takes care of speech thinking and other things and the spinal cord makes sure that the brain gets messages. But the Central Nervous System also takes care of touching and temperature. The brain and spinal cord together keep the body safe from touching something hot and use reflexes.
