The Union economics went up due to the war being a war between two people of the same country. The North also produced railroads. Also a lot of destruction happened since it was a war.

The South had it more rough. The war impacted their farming. They also have slaves though so that had a major impact. The South divided from the civil war because Abraham Lincoln was going to take away their slaves. Also known as Abolish slavery. So they had a whole civil war.
