Clara Barton's childhood was mostly, Helping around the house and taking care of stuff such as cleaning around the house and taking care of her siblings when they were hurt or sick. She took care of everybody because she wanted to. When Clara Barton was eleven her brother David fell off the roof of the barn on her family's farm he didn’t break any bones but got very sick. Clara decided to take care of him, which made her very good at nursing. By practicing nursing at such a young age she became a very good nurse at a young age.
