'It has to start with the teaching. First and foremost, good quality teaching. It has to be top of the agenda and then technology supports that.
Our vision came to a halt as far as technology was concerned as our broadband connection was very poor, so what we did was think of a way around it. We couldn't get help as a maintained school from the local authority, so we went with LGfL and from then our technology use has really taken off in school and has really enhanced the learning and teaching'

'So as far as the impact on standards at our school, since we have embedded technology in the curriculum, we have seen standards improve. That is through the use of technology in assessments, through videos, through photographic observations. It's also through exposing children to experience experiences that they maybe would never have experienced without it.
But it's also how children are accessing the teachers when they're not in school. So, especially during lockdown, with the devices that children have to hand at home, not only does it bridge the gap between home and school learning, but actually there is that constant dialogue between children and teachers and it doesn't stop at the end of the school day, which is fantastic'
Emma Hardy - Year 6 and Computing Lead - Exning Primary School
'As a Senior Leadership Team, we've always been outward facing and looking for the direction of where are we heading with our school? That involves working with a lot of outside agencies, having an open mind, being prepared to look outside of the primary sector, working with our secondary colleagues, going even further and working with sixth form colleges, looking at vocational studies'
James Clark - Headteacher - Exning Primary School
'And then we have quite a range of options of technology in our school and the teachers pick and choose that to support their lessons. So it's not used in every lesson. You won't see the Chromebooks out in every classroom all of the time, but they are there to support that good teaching when it is felt that it will enhance the lesson and enhance pupils' progress and learning'
Natasha Warren - Deputy Headteacher - Exning Primary School
'I think it's about celebrating the successes you've had in your own school and sharing those with others but also the failures that you've had as well including the little fails that we've had along our journey too. Its about just getting out there and talking to people about it. Showcasing the technology that we're using.'
