The role of choice for all learnersPLEO 55
'Through the research, we discovered that children prefer a mixture of resources, whether that be digital or whether that be on paper. So, through a universal design for learning approach, children can choose how they would acquire that work. So they have the physical resources in front of them, or they may have an online resource like ThingLink. They might have Google Docs. They've got a plethora of different resources.'

'The thing that's jumped out at me the most is how much time we actually save using technology. Because when you're in the moment, in the lesson, you forget how far we've come with everything and being able to take a step back and see actually, we can get through so much more in our curriculum time, which frees up time to do lots of other things that perhaps we didn't have time for in the past. That's something that's made a big impact on our timetabling and being able to monitor those other parts of the curriculum that perhaps were lost before.'

How can EdTech Help improve consistency across year groups? PLEO 56b
'We work collaboratively across the trust because there is a wealth of knowledge and expertise across different schools. Then, we're able to work collaboratively, planning their documents together. So we would meet together, have a short meeting via Google Meet or Teams or Zoom, and then we'd be able to plan out exactly what we're going to be doing and how we're going to progress the children. And it's created a lot more time for me to work on a smaller amount of lessons, but to make their quality much higher.'

'Pre-technology, we would have had lots of bits of paper and lots of children going up and getting and accessing those. There's a lot of pace lost with that, whereas now it's all there. They can access it at their point, at their level, in their own time'

How has the use of EdTech changed over time at LEO? PLEO 44
'The introduction of one-to-one devices. It's opened so many doors for so many children. It's enabled them and enabled me as a practitioner to give a variety of resources to all of the children. For instance, if we're planning a piece of writing, we might use a Jamboard. First of all, we can use some pictorial stimulus to get that engagement going, to get the talk going, rather than being passive learners, let's say for a metaphor, they're sat on a bus and they're not worried about the direction that they're going with their learning, they want to get to the endpoint.'

Is technology replacing existing pedagogy? PLEO 51
'At LEO Academy Trust, we have a teaching and learning strategy influencing the school's teaching and learning policy. And it's very much about the right tool for the job. So, if you go into any LEO school and look through the books, you'll see plenty of writing. It's not replacing written work. It's using the technology to enhance your teaching and learning and using it where is needed. So it's about something other than replacing written work or replacing traditional things. We still do all of that. It's about enhancement for your teaching and learning'
