Third grade is a year of transition with increased responsibility and deeper rigger in all subjects. Students are transitioning from "learning to read" to "reading to learn". In third grade we emphasize GRIT and PERSEVERANCE - work hard and never give up.
We also teach our kids how to get out of the PIT when they are faced with tasks they are struggling with. COLLABORATION is how students work together to solve a problem. EUREKA means - "I've got it!"

Be Prompt: Be on time and ready to learn! Enter the classroom quietly. Complete your morning work and responsibilities independently.
Be Prepared: Get a good night's sleep. Eat a good breakfast. Wear a proper school uniform. Bring your blue folder back to school everyday. Check that you have 2 sharpened pencils every morning. Have a POSITIVE ATTITUDE!
Be Productive: MAXIMIZE learning time by staying on task. Follow directions. Ask for help when you need it. Always do your BEST work!
Be Polite: Use kind words. Respect yourself, classmates, teacher, classroom, and school. Use your manners - Please, Thank You, No Thank You, You're Welcome, Excuse Me, I'm Sorry.
Be Patient: Wait respectfully and calmly for your turn. Actively listen when someone else is speaking. Be understanding when things don't go the way you had hoped.
