My name is Mrs. Wells and I am so excited to get to know each and every one of you this year! First, here is a little bit about me:
I grew up in the Los Angeles area and attended Westmont College in Santa Barbara where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Liberal Studies and concentrations in both English and History. I also earned my Teaching Credential through Westmont's Education program where I spent time student teaching in both 1st and 6th grade classrooms.
I am honored to be completing my first year of teaching at Literacy First Charter School to be apart of this school's family. I decided to go into teaching (specifically hoping to teach 6th grade) after working with upper elementary and middle school students as both a youth group leader and summer camp counselor. It was through these experiences that I realized just how special the 6th grade age group was and how much I wanted be a positive adult who could help guide students through all of the big transitions and new experiences that come with this stage of life.
I got married this past May & my husband attended Literacy First as a k-12 student!
I love the outdoors! I love both the beach & the mountains equally and look forward to any chance I get to go car camping or snorkeling.
I was a summer camp counselor for 5 summers! Camp will always have a special place in my heart & is the reason I decided to teach!
