Welcome to 8th Grade Bible Class! This year we will be studying the NewTestament, focusing on the life of Christ. We will be learning about the historical facts of the Bible and how to apply it to life today.
Each week students will have a memory verse that they will be quizzed on. These verses will go along with what we will be learning in class. In class, we will review them together and discuss their application and practicality. My hope is that they hide these words in their heart so they can use them in the future! Students will be responsible for studying for this quiz on their own outside of class. Additionally, 8th Grade will begin to learn more ways to apply the Bible to their lives through prayer journaling. Through Bible and other classes at LFCA, we will teach students how to look at each topic though a Biblical worldview.
8th grade is a time for students to continue to learn how to become more independent, responsible, and thoughtful. This year this in an emphasis on helping students verbalize what they believe, how that believe influences their decisions, and how their faith will lead them into the future. We will learn practical ways to share our faith with those around us During this transition, the LFCA teachers and staff are here to help, encourage, and guide them. I am excited to be part of their journey and excited to see how they grow as students, leaders, and humans this school year!
You can find the class syllabus, weekly Bible memory verses, and other assignments on the google classroom. Grades will be posted on Gradelink.
"12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
