The design of the 5th to 8th grade physical education program is to provide students with a unique opportunity for developing all aspects of their personal growth. Through physical activity children are challenged to succeed in a variety of ways. Movement experiences are structured in the gymnasium to help students mature, not just physically but intellectually, socially and emotionally as well. Recognizing that each child learns at their own pace and in their own capacity, achievement is measured on an individual basis. Below is an outline of the sports and skill areas that students will develop between the grades of 5-8.

Classwork/homework will be assigned throughout the unit. Students will lose 10 points per day when an assignment is late. After 5 days, the highest grade will be a 50.
Students are expected to be prepared for physical activity and on task as active participants during every class including on remote days.
Requirements for preparation include: wearing PE appropriate clothing and sneakers. NO JEANS, CROCS, Boots or Open Toed Shoes for PE class. If your child is NOT wearing sneakers to school, have them pack a pair in their backpack to change into for PE class.
We ask that students NOT wear jewelry for PE. We are not responsible for any jewelry that maybe broken or injury that may occur due to wearing it.
When students are not prepared, inactive points are deducted from their grade.
