Liberty Middle School Construction Progress is 15% Complete!
Little Ferry Public Schools has received an additional $7.75 million toward Liberty Middle School. We thank the dedication of our district administration and Board of Education and their work with Mayor Mauro Raguseo, State Sen. Joe Lagana, and Assembly Members Lisa Swain and Chris Tully.
A portion of the additional funding received in summer 2025 has been used to further offset the referendum tax burden for Little Ferry residents.
The owner of a home assessed at the Little Ferry average ($422,221) can expect to see an school debt tax increase of $200, rather than $490, for this fiscal year (July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026).
This funding is in addition to the $5 million that we have already received, for a cumulative total of $12.75 million in funding.
The initial $5 million was used to reduce the original bond amount, which, along with a lower-than-estimated interest rate on bond borrowing, reduced the estimated annual tax impact for residents. The tax impact decreased by about $110 per year from the original estimate for an owner of a home assessed at the borough average of $422,221.

Debt service aid from the referendum helps to offset the local share of the costs.
The administration and Board of Education is committed to continuing to seek additional funding for this project.
<<< Efforts so far have resulted in savings for Little Ferry.
*This revised estimated tax impact represents a decrease of $110/ year from the original estimate. Read more on the FAQs page.
