My Little Ferry Teaching: A Summary
I have taught in the Little Ferry Public School System for over two decades. Most recently, I have taught Grade 6 ELA (Reading & Writing Workshop). Over the course of my career I have taught grades 1, 6, and 7 for English Language Arts Literacy: Reading, Writing, and a combination of both.
I absolutely love 6th & 7th grade literature and narrative essay writing is my favorite. Starting 2022-2023 I taught Grade 6 ELA; I will cover both Reading and Writing in an inclusive Workshop Model.
I believe in challenging students to achieve their personal best and to incorporate cooperative and fun learning, like projects, whenever possible. I firmly believe every child can learn and succeed but not on the same day or in the same way.
Philosophy of Education:
I believe that parents, administrators, and teachers are each one side of an equilateral triangle such that when each side works in harmony with the others we all benefit the inside of the triangle; the inside of the triangle being your child/ my student. My ultimate goal is a productive, happy, hard-working child who has faith in his/ her abilities showing growth and maximizing his/ her potential in all aspects of life. It is my goal to nurture and care for your child while simultaneously improving his/ her ability to read and write well. My motto is: strict but fair.
Listen to the mustn'ts child,
Listen to the don'ts
Listen to the shouldn'ts
The Impossibles, the won'ts
Listen to the never haves.
Then listen close to me
ANYTHING can happen, child
ANYTHING can BE!
