Inspired by the Olympics, in collaboration with colleges in the 6 Olympic host boroughs (Barking & Dagenham, Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets & Waltham Forest), a weeklong festival of multi sport took place in October 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 at venues across London. College's competed in a variety of sports throughout each week, earning points for participation and performance towards an overall college total. The LSC teams enjoyed a multitude of success and LSC were crowned overall winners in 2012 and 2013.
With the world's best athletes descending on London for the 2012 Olympic Games, LSC were very happy to be the training base for the Italian Men's and Women's Olympic squads. The Italian women's team were quarter finalists, whilst the men's team won Bronze medals. It was incredible to see international sports stars training at LSC, and we even played host to an international friendly when Italy's women's team played Turkey in a warm up match.

5 years after winning the BCS non-elite Cup, having recently introduced a basketball academy led by head coach Dave Lavinier, LSC surprised many when they battled their way past a series of tough opposition in some thrilling encounters to reach the final of the AoC Premier Cup. At the Doug Ellis Centre, Birmingham, the LSC team faced tough opposition in Myerscough College, and ran out runners-up after a well contested final, with Titas Zydelis running the plays and Deividas Lygutas making big scoring contributions.

This indoor cricket league, established in 2012 by Arfan Akram, has become a much valued feature of our competitive sports calendar, providing a lot of momentum and motivation for our cricket players throughout the winter months. Our LSC teams have always performed well, but the highlights of our participation must be finishing in runners-up position in 2015 and winning the inaugural competition in 2012, captained by Rafill Hussain, with Zishan Khan making significant scoring contributions throughout the league fixtures.
Salaam Peace began delivering football related activity at LSC in January 2016; and made a significant contribution to our provision throughout the latter half of the decade and into the future. The Salaam Peace programme at LSC, headed up by Sab Bham with support from Richard Nugent, has included a comprehensive coaching programme for all levels, match day coaching and intra-college 5-a-side programmes. Through this partnership, students have been encouraged to access clear pathways into a range of exciting opportunities through Salaam Peace’s diverse and impressive community programme, as players, volunteers and coaches. Saracens Sport Foundation, through Matt Brown, began working with LSC in the 2018/19 academic year and made a big impact in a short time. Project Rugby aimed to introduce LSC students to rugby who had little or no previous experience, and transition them from college to club participation. There were some great incentives and experiences along the way, including a rugby workshop with Joel and John Kpoku, a trip to see them and Saracens in action at Allianz Park and walking out at half-time of the Premiership Rugby final, to play on the hallowed turf at the home of rugby, Twickenham Stadium.
