At the start of the first term of the academic year, the Sports team collaborated with the Math’s team to devise a plan to influence more communication and cohesion between GCSE maths students. This was due to the issue that students were not engaging with each other during lessons which had detrimental effects on their attainment.
Led by Nathaniel the team organized fun activity sessions with the aim of students having to use teamwork and problem-solving skills to complete tasks and win games. The sessions were an absolute success! the team received amazing feedback from staff and students. Staff have said ‘Students have been more sociable and friendly since the session’ and ‘They are more open to class discussions. This programme will be extended to GCSE English for the next term with the hopes of the department having the same successes as GCSE Maths.
