Columbia Police Department Explorer Program
The Columbia Police Department (CPD) Explorer Program is dedicated to the success, training, and overall aptitude of the youth within its ranks. The Explorer Program consists of young adults between the ages of 14-20 years old, who are looking to make a career in law enforcement. The Explorer Program gives these individuals excellent leadership training, mental discipline, focus, team-building skills, superior physical fitness training, and real-world training that will help them in any profession that they desire. South Carolina Auto Tech Development (SCATD)
This program is beneficial to students in Automotive Technology courses. SCATD provides scholarships, job placement in dealerships, and free complete tool set and toolboxes for students to begin or progress in their auto tech careers. MUSC Health Midlands Youth PCT Apprenticeship Program
This program represents a collaboration between Midlands Technical College, Apprenticeship Carolina and MUSC Health. Designed to equip participants with both practical skills and real-world experience, the program ensures a pathway to employment and success in the health care field. Key details include:
On-the-job training: Participants will gain valuable hands-on experience while training at MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Downtown.
Classroom instruction: Participants will gain their Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)certification; training sessions will utilize classroom space at Midlands Technical College, providing a robust educational foundation.
Grant funding: The program is generously funded by Apprenticeship Carolina, covering 140 hours of training.
Paid-learning opportunity: Trainees will receive compensation throughout their training period, making this a paid opportunity to learn and grow in the health care field.
Guaranteed employment: Upon successful completion, participants will be offered full-time employment with MUSC Health, ensuring job security and career advancement.

South Carolina Business Week (July 13-18, 2025) provides rising high school juniors, seniors, and college freshman an opportunity to interact with and learn about business through a hands-on experience. Business Week’s mission is to contribute to the preparation of young adults for the business environment by introducing them to the principles of leadership, teamwork and the American free enterprise system while promoting self-reliance, individual responsibility and entrepreneurship. Lexington Medical Center Partners Program
The Lexington Medical Center Partners Program offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience, develop valuable career skills, and explore a variety of healthcare careers over the summer. This program is designed to introduce students to the wide range of careers within the healthcare field, providing valuable mentorship and real-world experiences that will set them up for success in their future studies and careers.
Eligibility: Open to high school juniors (rising seniors) with an interest in health sciences and healthcare careers.

University of North Georgia National Leadership Challenge Weekend
Come test your leadership skills and climb to new heights at UNG's semiannual National Leadership Challenge Weekend. There are two sessions- Fall Session: November 1- 3 and Spring Session: April 4-6. NLC is a great opportunity to experience what life is like as a member of the Corps of Cadets as it is hosted by our current cadets. Get a chance for an action packed weekend of outdoor obstacles and team-building exercises with students from all over the country.
