School Counseling Mission Statement
It is the mission of Ballentine Elementary School’s comprehensive school counseling program to be aligned to the ASCA Student Standards: Mindsets & Behaviors for Student Success and the South Carolina Comprehensive School Counseling & Career Guidance Model in order to give each student equitable access to a program that supports them in their efforts to achieve their highest measure of success in the areas of academic, career, and social/emotional development through collaboration with school personnel, family, and community stakeholders in order to create life-long learners in an ever-changing global society.
School Counseling Vision Statement
Every student will acquire the academic, career and social/emotional skills to reach their fullest educational potential and successfully manage their lives as empowered, healthy, responsible, competent and productive citizens who respect themselves and others.
School Counseling Beliefs
School counselor will abide by the ASCA Ethical Standards for School Counselors.
School counselor will be a leader, an advocator, and a collaborator who creates equitable access to rigorous curriculum and opportunities for self-directed personal growth for every student.
School counselor will collaborate with all stakeholders to include the use data to design, implement, evaluate and continually improve the comprehensive school counseling program.
School counselor will collaborate with families, educators, and community resources to meet the needs of students and assist with student development.
School counselor will assist students with self-advocacy and accountability skills.
School counselor will help students feel valued and empowered.
All students shall have access to a school counselor who actively advocates for their academic, career, and social/emotional needs.
All students are capable of achieving their future goals.

All students will have equal access to a data-driven, comprehensive school counseling program.
