Programs & Activities
Little Spot of Feelings & Emotions-For the 2025-2026 school year, school counseling curriculum will continue to focus on social emotional learning (SEL) where students can develop self-awareness, self-control, self-regulation, social skills and responsible decision making which are essential to school, home and community success.
Mindful Monday-A schoolwide program where students are introduced to various emotions, feelings, character traits and life skills via our BES News Show and are challenged to engage in a weekly intention associated with social-emotional learning.
Handy Helpers-A program for students in grades 3rd-5th that allows them to sign up for various jobs within the school. Each student is required to fill out an application and commit to the job once a week either before school (7:15a-7:45a) or during their recess time.
Safety Patrol-A program for 5th grade students that allow students to help keep our school and students safe. Students develop leadership, personal safety, time management and social skills.
Lunch Buddies-A program that allows 3rd grade students to pair with 1st and 2nd grade students as peer mentors. 3rd grade students will join 1st and 2nd grade students during their lunch period.
Mentorship-A district managed mentoring program where community stakeholders mentor students in need. Applications can found under my resource page.
Red Ribbon/Healthy Choices Week-This schoolwide program is held for a week each October. During this week, students are taught the importance of healthy choices, good decision making and avoiding peer pressure.
National Career Development Month/Week/Day-This schoolwide program is held during the month of November. During this month, week and/or day, students are able to explore different careers, set personal goals and celebrate various careers of interest.
Kindness Week-This schoolwide program is held for a week in the month of February. During this week, we celebrate all the ways we can make our school kinder, safer, healthier and inclusive.
Career Day-Career Day is a fun event where community members share their jobs, inspiring students to explore future career possibilities. This is event is held prior to Spring Break.
Snack Pack Program-This program allows of school district partner with Bethlehem Lutheran Church to provide weekly snack packs for our students/families that are in need.
