Course Description:
Welcome to The Art of Interior Design 1! This course will explore the spatial and aesthetic concerns of Interior Design such as space planning, lighting, materials, color theory, furnishings, and more. Each student will design a proposed residential space with a given set of technical and conceptual concerns. Students will create a set of presentation boards depicting drawings, floor plans, elevations, materials, and furniture. The ability to think creatively and the need to articulate design ideas will be emphasized. Students will keep an idea file in the form of a sketchbook/journal.
