Fee Waivers

The cost of applying to college is a concern for many students and families. Fortunately, there are a variety of supports that can make the college application process more affordable.

Standardized Testing Fee Waivers

College Board and ACT offer fee waivers for eligible students.

Please see your school counselor if you believe you are eligible for a fee waiver or if you have any questions.

The following are general eligibility guidelines to qualify for a College Board and/or ACT fee waiver:

  • You're enrolled in or eligible to participate in a federal free or reduced-price lunch program at school.
  • Your family income falls within the income Eligibility Guidelines set by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (click here for more information).
  • You're enrolled in a federal, state, or local program that aids students from low-income families (e.g., TRIO programs such as Upward Bound or GEAR UP).
  • Your family receives public assistance.
  • You live in federally subsidized public housing, are in a foster home, or are homeless.
  • You're a ward of the state or an orphan.
