General Information

The club meets every Thursday from 3:15 PM - 4:30 PM in the Math Building room 703.

New Member Program: Students learn about the basics of robotics.  The concepts include basic robot assembly, drivetrains, wiring, soldering, motors & servos, sensors, gearing & ratios, sprockets & chains, linear actuators, axles & hubs.  The program concludes with teams being formed and a challenge issued for the teams to build robots to compete in.

Advanced Member Program: Students build off what they know or learned in previous years to advance their skills.  This may include more advanced  robotics challenges or any of a number of other maker style projects.

FIRST Robotics Teams: The Club supports two official FIRST Tech Challenge teams,  2 Bits and a Byte & The Parity Bits.  The members are selected at the end of the year from the robotics club.

How to join: There will be a sign up form at the LHS robotics booth during the Lexington High School club fair. No prior experience is required to join. Must be an LHS student.

William Diamond Club

Hosted by 2 Bits and a Byte, the Diamond club give opportunity to students in William Diamond Middle School.  Students learn how to use Ev 3 Mindstorm to explore the world of robotics and develop essential problem-solving skills for their future STEM pursuits. The club covers everything from basic programming to the engineering design process. Students are organised into groups where, after familiarization of building basic chassis and programing, they will be given a challenge to complete over the course of the club season.
