About the Lexington High School Building Project

On March 2, 2022,  the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) invited the Town of Lexington  into the MSBA’s Eligibility Period for a new or renovated Lexington High School. The 270-day Eligibility Period formalizes and streamlines the beginning of the MSBA’s grant approval process and benefits the Town by providing a definitive schedule for the completion of preliminary requirements, assisting with the determination of financial and community readiness, and identifying needs for planning and budgeting. Successful completion of all activities in the Eligibility Period will allow the Town to be eligible for an MSBA invitation to Feasibility Study. See here for a full overview of the MSBA process.

Latest Project Update (August 30, 2022). We are well on our way through The Massachusetts School Building Authority’s (MSBA’s) Eligibility Period. To date, we have submitted an Initial Compliance Certificate, and we have formed a School Building Committee, which was approved and accepted by the MSBA. We also completed and submitted the Lexington High School Educational Profile Questionnaire, along with updated enrollment information. Next up will be the maintenance documents and enrollment certification due on the 180th day.

The School Building Committee (SBC) has been formed as part of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) Eligibility Period. The SBC’s purpose is generally to monitor the application process and to advise during the construction of an approved project. These meetings are recorded and open to the public via Zoom and in person at Central Office. We plan to roll out our new LHS capital project website with all MSBA related information soon, until then, See below for for an archive of all project updates, including SBC agendas, minutes, and recordings.
