Thank you LEF for your generous support and thank you to all who support LEF! In Fall 2022, I was able to attend the American Orff-Schulwerk Association (AOSA) Conference in Kansas City, MO. Anytime I attend a professional development workshop or conference, I always hope to walk away with some "golden nuggets"; some new literature, dances, games, assessments, repertoire, anything that I can incorporate into my classroom. The AOSA conference was non-stop music making for three days with all-day sessions, concerts during lunch, and sessions, dances, performances and music making every evening. I challenged myself physically and musically. I walked out of some sessions feeling as if I could be a soulful Jazz singer like Ella Fitzgerald or move like a dancer from the Alvin Ailey dance company. Overall, it was a wonderful experience being surrounded by hundreds of music educators and I couldn't wait to bring back new found knowledge and experience to my students and share with my colleagues at Lexington Learns together. Thank you LEF!
Due to AOSA rules, I was not able to take pics or videos of actual sessions or performances, however, I got a couple of shots of myself and colleagues just having fun dancing and playing instruments in the marketplace where industry sponsors had instruments out.Â
