My photography explores themes like sonder, interactions between people, and movement. This picture specifically expresses a carefree moment on the public swings of a young college couple.
To me, digital art is something that I am seeking to improve on the most out of all the mediums I work with. When I am creating, texture is a big deal. Working with a digital pencil on a screen that doesn't feel like paper still feels a bit strange, which makes my brushstrokes irregular sometimes.
I have been doing traditional art since age 4, the first medium I ever used. I am exploring surrealism, inspired by Salvador Dali, as well as using ink and graphite for detailed, original sketches.
I completed this piece at my NYU Summer Art Intensive in 2024, named Melody in Bloom. Mixed media explores my experience and feelings in physical form. My feeling of intensity and passion when playing the piano grows as the piece goes on, expressed in the sculpture above.
Other than completing murals at school as Mural Crew President, I love doing large-scale art at community centers and public places. The one shown above was done at Lexington Community Center, called Woven Seasons: A Lexington Tapestry.
Architecture is something I want to pursue as a career, and I am exploring how nature and building materials/infrastructure can coexist. For me, the experience that the building creates is more important than the aesthetics of the building itself. Letting people feel something is my goal.
This upcoming school year, I will be a Junior in high school. I signed up for AP 2D Art, and I will be documenting my process as I go along. I hope to explore themes of my childhood, nature, and interactions with people.
