The Military Child of the Year Award recognizes exceptional young people ages 13–18 who demonstrate:

🇺🇸 Commitment to their community

Seven incredible recipients will represent the Army 🪖, Marine Corps 🦅, Navy ⚓, Air Force ✈️, Coast Guard 🚢, National Guard 🛡️, and Space Force 🚀.

✈️ A trip to Washington, D.C. with a parent or guardian

🎯 ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

✅ Must be a legal military dependent (verified through DEERS enrollment)

✅ Must be 13–18 years old at the time of nomination

✅ Must be available to travel with one adult guardian to the Washington, D.C. area in April 2027

✅ Previous Operation Homefront Military Child of the Year recipients, including Innovation Award recipients, are not eligible

✅ Operation Homefront employees, officers, directors, agents, certain immediate family members, and members of their households are not eligible

📋 IF SELECTED AS A SEMIFINALIST, YOU MUST ALSO:

📝 Provide 2 letters of recommendation

📄 Provide Form DD1172

📸 Be willing to participate in media and donor opportunities

Be sure to apply before Nov. 1 so that you can be considered for all merit scholarships as well as the Griffith Scholarship, our most prestigious scholarship. Fall Open House - October 24th

Boys State and Girls State Scholarships

Accepted PC applicants who attended Boys State or Girls State qualify for a $30,000 annual Palmetto State scholarship, totaling $120,000 over four years. To be eligible, students must apply by our Early Action deadline of November 1. Apply here >>

Scholarships for Service-Minded Students

Ambitious, service-oriented students can compete for a full scholarship at PC through our Service Entrepreneurship Competition. By submitting a business plan addressing a community issue by December 1, students vie for the top prize and additional awards. This unique opportunity blends entrepreneurship with serving the community, offering multiple opportunities to receive scholarships. Read more >>

Our Top Academic Scholarship

The prestigious Griffith Scholarship covers tuition, fees, room, and board for up to four years at PC. Candidates with exceptional academics, leadership potential, and character are invited to interview on campus later this year. To be considered, students must apply to PC by November 1. Scholarship for Presbyterian Students

Students accepted to PC who are Presbyterian church members or attend Presbyterian schools qualify for a $24,000 annual scholarship, renewable for up to four years. This $96,000 total award significantly reduces college costs for eligible students. Learn More >>

Have students register for free and get entered to win a scholarship.

We invite your high school students to join our free virtual college fair for the your Region of The United States this fall. Students can register starting a week before their fair! The students can log in any time during the week and get information from many colleges. There is a question and answer section for the students to get answers directly from college reps during the week. This service is completely free and we would love to have your school and students join. This is a great virtual resource. Please let me know if you have any questions or need anything. Every student that registers is entered to win a $300 scholarship. Remember to post about College Fairs Online on your schools counseling website.
