An internship is a structured, work-based learning course that incorporates a strong school-based academic foundation. The major purpose of the internship program is for the intern to receive broad instruction in workplace expectations and employer-identified competencies related to a specific career field of interest. Students are evaluated using the grading criteria established for work-based credit courses. Students furnish their own transportation to the internship training site. Students must apply to participate in the program by completing a Work-Based Learning Application available from their school career specialist. Applications must be approved prior to student enrollment in the internship course. Students must attend an orientation before they start their internship training.
*Students in the honors version of this course are required to complete the capstone.
